Dental sedation

At Alp Medical Dental, we appreciate that having any procedure carried out at the dentist can be anxiety-inducing. Our dentists will ensure that the whole treatment is explained to you, so you know what to expect at each stage. They will also keep checking whether you are OK or if you would like things to go slower or take a break. If you would prefer to be sedated during any procedure, this is something that we can arrange on your behalf. The other reasons that dental sedation should be considered is to reduce the pain during treatment.

We have different types of dental sedation available to you and after our dentist has taken your history and discussed it with you, they will be able to make their recommendations. You could either be offered gas and air or IV sedation depending on your needs and what they dentist thinks will be most suitable for you.

Aftercare

We would recommend that following your sedation, you do not drive or participate in exercise/active sport. We would also recommend that you do not return to your hotel room alone – it would be best if you have an adult with you.
